Happy Halloween!

If you're anything like me, you've planned for this day since August. Out of all holidays, Halloween and Christmas are the ones that excite me the most.

The idea of recreating yourself for one night and being whatever you want to be satisfies both my planning and creative sides.

This year, I wanted to be Kylie Jenner.

With my newly blonde locks I took to KJ's Instagram page, Google images and various other social media platforms.

In the end, I knew I wanted to incorporate three factors into my look: Mary Jo K red lips, a statement dress and thigh high boots.

I purchased this dress a few years ago from H and M and although I absolutely love it (and it is really comfy), I have had a hard time finding an event to wear it to, but I think it fits right in with this costume. The bold color and the low cut neckline really said Kylie for me.

The boots I got from Charlotte Russe a few weeks ago when they were having a sale and they are probably the trendiest items in my closet right now!

Overall, this look was easy to put together and I had a lot of fun being Kylie for one night of my life.

3 Part Pumpkin - Part 3

In case you missed the first and second parts of this post, I am trying to promote sustainability by taking this pumpkin colored Zara dress and styling it three different ways. I'm hoping that by doing more multi part blogs, it will inspire you to find pieces in your own closet and get creative with how to switch up your looks.

In the first post, I put together a Bella Mi Jewelry necklace and this floral scarf from Kohl's. For the second post, I ditched the scarf and added golden leaf shaped earrings (also from Bella Mi Jewelry).

For this final look, I wanted to bring back my floral scarf and Zara dress and pair them with this olive colored hat.

I love this look because it cohesively pairs fall tones together. It reflects the intense browns, oranges, greens, reds and yellows from nature while not being overwhelming to those who see it. I also really liked the contrast between the light tones of the scarf and the dark tone of the hat.

Putting aside how great the aesthetics are, this outfit is ideal for fall weather with the hat and scarf giving you extra coverage. If you wanted to adapt this look for a cooler day, you could wear tights and booties so your legs and feet are fully covered.

3 Part Pumpkin - Part 2

If you read my last post, then you know that my goal for this 3 part post is to show you how to style an outfit three different ways, the first was pairing a basic dress with a necklace and scarf. For this one, I ditched the scarf and paired that same necklace with these beautiful golden leaf earrings.

What I like about these earrings is that they have a strong fall style about them (not only in their golden tone, but also that they are falling leaves!) yet they do not create a heavy, dark or chunky look. They remain light details, but they are strong and they stand out.

For the rest of the outfit, I incorporated this Coach bag (a few seasons old) with light brown ballet flats from Target! The mix of gold, brown and orange create a warmth that is quintessential fall.

Of course the hair is your choice, but I have really been digging this Ariana Grande inspired hairstyle (aka a half pony). It keeps your hair out of your face without doing a messy pony and if you pull hairs down, it really frames the face well.

3 Part Pumpkin - Part 1

In the interest of sustainability and creativity, I wanted to take one piece of clothing and show you three ways to accessorize it. My hope is to not only inspire you to create adorable fall themed outfits, but to not just buy a piece of clothing, wear it once and then get rid of it.

Although this kind of thinking can be foreign (we live in a fast fashion world), I hope to show you that updating your clothing and continuing to be stylish is easier than you think, and that buying more clothes is unnecessary when you probably have a closet full of cute and useful clothing already.

The base of my look for this three part blog will be this pumpkin colored Zara dress.

Added onto that, I will take different accessories to create fun, fall looks.

For part 1, I took an old scarf I got at Kohl's a few years ago and paired it with this beautiful Bella Mi necklace. It is a Tibetan bead inlaid with turquoise, brass and carnelian. The bead at the bottom is a carnelian accent bead.

I wanted to put these pieces together because too often we assume that you either have to accessorize with a scarf OR a necklace. By putting the two together, you not only are able to give your outfit multiple textures and patterns to spice it up, but the coordinating colors on the accessories really play up the pumpkin color in the dress.

Tibetan Turquoise (and coral)

Chilly weather is here! And I'm loving it!

All my sweaters have been dug out of the back of my closet, high waisted jeans are once again a staple in my wardrobe and pumpkin drinks are everywhere! Fall is officially here.

To kick off this wonderful season, I wanted to show you how you can color coordinate your outfit and use your accessories as your accent pieces.

I started off by using navy blue as my base. Using a neutral tone as your base gives you a wide variety of accent colors to choose from.

For this look, I chose coral as my primary accent color, with turquoise as a secondary accent.

Another tip I would give is to either match the accent accessory colors perfectly, or have one accessory that stands out more than the other. Without keeping this in mind, you could have sensory overload or have a greater chance of wearing clashing colors instead of looking polished. In this case, my earrings are the main accent piece and the shoes (although a pink/coral as well) is more subdued.

Put together, this is a comfy, coordinated fall outfit with a twist!

These beautiful Bella Mi earrings are made of Tibetan beads inlaid with coral, turquoise and sterling silver, on the bottom is a coral accent bead which ties it all together.
