Business Basics

3:43 PM

Hello friends!

You're probably tying up loose ends and finishing up last minute jobs so you can enjoy this extended weekend, I know I am! With that being said, I'll keep this post short.

I've given you all tips on how to build a business wardrobe before (my most recent version) but I wanted this one to be more about how to add your personal style to your work wear.

Thankfully, shopping for women's professional wear is a lot easier than it used to be. We are no longer expected to wear pantsuits 24/7 and given the options of only navy blue, black and grey AND sometimes women's clothing is detailed enough that it isn't hard to create an interesting look.

Accessories are great resources to work with because they can help make an outfit dressier, add a pop of color to the overall look or be minimal so the outfit itself can stand out. Try playing with different colors, textures/fabrics (for bags and purses) and heel height (do you like the look of high heels or flats? Do you have a job where you're on your feet all day or sitting at a desk?).

Also, take a cue from the current season, but don't be confined to it. For example, this outfit is inspired by fall colors, but I chose a cropped leg instead of full length pants and flats instead of boots.

Finally, your hair and makeup can even play a major role in your overall look. Don't be afraid to try new hairstyles or makeup looks (but do remember that this is your job and not your YouTube channel!)

Hopefully these small tips will be helpful to you and I wish you all a great labor day weekend!

She is seriously such a joy to work with and came well prepared with different inspiration photos and cool ideas. I had a blast and would recommend her for any event.
