Conscious Cape

Do you ever want to look chic but struggle to do so because you live in an unpredictable climate and have to layer up? Me too.

With Minnesota's weather being so back and forth lately, I have really struggled to put together outfits that don't leave me sweating on hot days or freezing on cold days. (Actually at this rate, Minnesota's weather is an hour by hour deal.)

For this post, I wanted to highlight this easy-to-layer, navy blue Ann Taylor cape. It's not only trendy, but kept me warm during our shoot on this extremely windy day in the Twin Cities.

If you live in a cold climate, knowing how to layer is key. Having a closet that consists of a similar color scheme (mine is predominately neutrals) and being able to pair them together easily will save you so much time. It should be as easy as color pairing!

What's really nice about this cape and necklace combo (also from Ann Taylor) is that I can look dressed up with little to no effort. The cape is not something you see being worn everyday and the necklace adds the perfect amount of bling but doesn't overdo the rest of the outfit.

Another important note about these products is that you can feel good about shopping here because of the strides they are making towards better business practices. While in India a few months ago, we visited multiple fair trade factories to learn about supply chain and manufacturing processes. Although it may seem boring to walk through factories watching people work, I had a great time and learned in depth knowledge about the construction of my clothing. While there, we stopped at the Orient Craft manufacturing company that produces products for American Eagle, Old Navy, LOFT and Ann Taylor.
