When you live in a cold area like Minnesota, it is often hard to find a variety of pieces that keep you warm and don't just involve a closet full of old man sweaters. That's why this season I am loving the cape and shawl trend.
Although I am a little biased, (one of the owners of Primp went to school at St. Kate's), I have been a big fan of Primp Boutique for some time now. The three aspects about their stores that I appreciate are: 1) They always have new pieces in stock, 2) Every one of their pieces has a detail or originality to it and 3) I've never gone into a Primp location without seeing a dog! (Basically what I imagine heaven will be like - dogs and clothes).
This cape is a great addition to any wardrobe. It kept me warm for the whole time we were shooting, even though it was cold and windy. It's gray tones may give it a feel of minimalism, but the draping effect at the sleeves really gives it the distinction it deserves.
Another detail that may have been missed upon first glance is the zipper on the side seam of the jeans. The contrast of the tight zipper detailed jeans with the tucked in (as I've dubbed it) Kate Middleton-esque cape makes for an aesthetically pleasing look overall.
Side Note: If you live in or are near the St. Paul area this afternoon, head on over to the Primp Selby location. A portion of your purchase will go towards funding the St. Catherine University Fashion Association, but more specifically this years Katwalk fashion show in May! Hope to see you there!
